For Empaths…

If you’re as sensitive to energies as I am, you might find this article helpful.  I’ve learned one of the most important ways you can care for yourself when you’re overwhelmed with other energies is to ground yourself.  I usually picture a big, thick, mauvy uniform bubble around me for shielding and protection while holding my black moonstone; this always makes me feel much better within seconds.  There are many grounding stones e.g. smoky quartz, black tourmaline, Tibetan quartz.  Choose one which resonates with you.

Your Hidden Symmetry

If you enjoy numerology and the like, you may be interested in Jean Haner’s Your Hidden Symmetry: How Your Birth Date Reveals the Plan for Your Life.  Lots of fun and loads of info.  This rang true for me :)

P.S. Here is one of my favorite interactive numerology sites: Numerology Find Your Fate.  It’s impressively comprehensive and includes everything you could imagine wanting to know!

Davidji, The Master of Meditation

When I first began meditating (a few years ago), it was much more the issue of physical discomfort (bachache) than it was the difficulty of not being able to let go of the busy little stories on my mind.  I started with a meditation lasting several minutes (seemed grueling at the time), gradually made my way to half hour meditations (yup, that’s right), and tried all sorts of methods e.g. counting, naming, mantra, guided, etc.

I was listening to a Hay House Radio podcast a few months ago hosted by Davidji and realized that his Heart Meditation and 16 Seconds to Bliss would be the perfect remedy for the beginner who wants to try meditation, would like to dedicate themselves to a regular practice, and has discovered that traditional methods have proven challenging and possibly disheartening.  One of the most important things about meditation is to NOT QUIT because the benefits are just too numerous and valuable!  Also understand that some days meditation will feel easier than others and that’s okay.  I hope you’ll give those two very short meditations a chance.  If you love them, be sure to join his SweetSpot Community in which you will regularly receive both weekday & weekend meditations and tune in to his free podcasts on Hay House Radio (in which he covers the meditations more in-depth).  I have a meditation of his to recommend in a later post; probably one of the nicest meditations I’ve ever tried…

Set your alarm to a gentle ring, get into a comfortable posture, close your eyes, relax your muscles, don’t follow the stories, breathe, and be solely in the present…

Namaste.

Life Paradigm

Life Paradigm

I was introduced to this model created by Dr. Lissa Rankin, author of Mind Over Medicine, during a PBS show several months ago. Honestly, I have not had the chance to read her book yet but would love to! She has some interesting ideas regarding health and how best to maintain a state of balance; not what you would expect of a typical practitioner of Western medicine. I encourage you to explore her website (http://www.lissarankin.com) so you can form your own opinions. Also check out Owning Pink (http://www.owningpink.com) which currently features the Stone Paradigm.  I also love Rankin’s The Daily Flame: Messages from Your Inner Pilot Light subscription which she occasionally emails.  Pair this with Louise Hay’s (Queen of Affirmations) & author of You Can Heal Your Life and you get the perfect Dynamic Duo!

Disappearing into the Ethers…

The fairies have been letting me know that I’m too messy and need to clean up…  It’s not that I don’t want to; it’s that there’s so many things which consume my time!  On numerous occasions I have exhausted myself trying to find certain things around the house grrrr and given myself some real good scares *sigh*.  I’ve lost all sorts of important items too :(.  Once, a friend suggested asking my spiritual Runners to place the item(s) out where I could find it clearly and easily.  Who are the Runners, you might ask?  Precisely was my question to her and this is what she said, “Your Runners are guides for all situations in which you need to invoke help.  They’re called Runners because that’s what they do- they run ahead and help you find things you’ve lost or misplaced.  They can also connect you with things you seek, even for things like parking spaces!  Runners are spirits who are very close to the earth and the natural world, often indigenous souls who once inhabited the area where you reside.  For example, in America, it will often be a Native American runner.  A Runner’s loyalties are with the land, and are not directly connected to you.  Make sure to thank them, and they will come through even stronger the next time.”  I heeded her advice and guess what?  I found my wallet sitting in plain sight : / after searching for hours while turning over the entire house!  Next request, my guardian angel wings necklace ;)…
P.S. Another book recommend (To Live with the Fairy Folk: A Guide to Attract Benevolent Spirits by Marina T. Stern, see Part 1, #4, page 17 regarding Neatness)…

Talking to Heaven…

Looks like it came with an extra card (Talking to Heaven Deck by Doreen Virtue & James Van Praagh)… hummm… a message from the beyond?  I think it must be my beloved furbaby kitty angel who’s trying to tell me he will always be with me wherever I may go :)…

P.S. I’ve asked a couple of tarot mentors concerning this and they suggest to keep the extra card in the stack as long as it makes sense for me to do so.  For now, I will keep it on my desk to remind me of my kitty guardian angel.

Numerology…

I have recently taken an interest to numerology thanks to one of Michelle Buchanan’s podcasts.  I don’t know much about the topic but I do find it fascinating and holds true for me (just like astrology and horoscopes do).  Keeping an open-mind because, well, you never know but either way… it’s fun ;).  Here’s a tidbit for you to explore…

Nature is My Church

I’m happiest out in nature :)… beautiful scenery, fresh air, leisure… to be able to move forward at your own pace… love it!  Sometimes I go there to think and even if I haven’t reached a resolution to a current issue, I always feel it was a wise therapeutic choice because nature encourages us to be in the moment…

Regarding The Existence of Faeries???

Been reading Signe Pike’s book, Faery Tale and I’m loving it!  Thanks to a dear friend’s recommend! Wish Signe wrote more books in total.  I have a magical little story to tell you…  I went to a local bookstore for the first time (wanted to give it some support) and asked the shopkeeper if they had any books regarding fairies and this is what I found…  The Coming of the Fairies (Hardcover) by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.  It was the only book they had (wasn’t hidden in-between books or anything either) and I never expected to find something like this; it was even a surprise to the shopkeeper.  Hmmmm, I believe someone’s trying to tell me something.  The topic matter was spot on too (the existence of faeries)!  Hehe, doubt no more…
